Yellow for Fall

Here's a country island table that I made.  I mixed colors that I had to create this hue.  It has a soft creamy yellow tone to it.  I think it adds a fall touch to my mini scene.  Thank you for stopping by!

Hello Everyone,

I've been busy taking care of my boys, so I haven't posted in awhile.  I do dabble in my miniatures with all this chaos.  Lately I've been collecting dollhouse vintage items.  I've been inspired by Cynthia's Cottage and Kim's Bakery, which I have displayed some of their lovely pieces in my photos.

I stained the kitchen island in cherry.  I was thinking of adding some color and distressing it, but I thinking I will hold off on that.  I really do like the way it looks with all my simple white accessories.

Here are some General Electric miniatures I found.  I have to replace the broken faucet, but other than that it does add lovely charm to my home.

A beautiful vintage hutch I also recently aquired.  The quality of dollhouse vintage miniatures are so much better than current finds.  The workmanship and detail they put in the past is exceptional.  Wish they made new miniatures that way, but I guess that makes rare finds like this much more special.  I'm debating whether or not to paint this one.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog!  The picture below is a picture of my newest addition.  Little Adam at 4 months.  He's a whopping 17 pounds and so lovable!  Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Suze

HELLO and happy Friday!

Hello everyone!  I have been MIA for awhile because of my pregnancy.  Once I found out I was pregnant  April of last year and I had all the first trimester woes hit me at once.  Everything I loved to do made me nauseous, the outdoors, certain foods, and even my miniature dollhouse hobby.  It was so weird and sad at the same time.  I had to pack away and hide all my minis to keep the room from spinning.  I defiantly had an inkling that I was going to have a boy.  ;O)

Last September while cleaning out the house to make room, I pulled out all my minis and my unfinished dollhouse.  I told myself, if I don't finish it now I don't think I ever will with two boys running around.  In September I slowly started to finish my project.  I'd say it's very similar to all my other dollhouses.  Shabby chic meets french country is my main focus here.  I was going to do fall colors and give it a warm cozy feel, but I had purchased wallpaper back in April for spring.  C'est la vie.

I'm still decorating but here are a couple of pictures of the inside.  The upstairs bedroom, which is my favorite part of the house, has a shabby chic/romantic feel.  I love the picture of the wedding dress which was painted by Caroline.  The lovely chair is from Mariza Moran, which sits perfectly next to the dresser by Cynthia.  Also sweet cake by Anna and the beautiful cottage bed by Sandy.   The second picture below is a glimpse of the kitchen which I'm still working on.  I hope to post more real soon!

Also, I had my son in November.  He's already 2 months and a whopping 14 pounds!!!  I'm proud of my big baby boy!

Cottage updates

Here is my finished shabby chic cottage.  I still need to clean it up a little and rearrange some of the furnishings, but this is what I've done so far.  I hope you all love it!

Here's the downstairs.

Bedroom upstairs.

I had so much fun with this dollhouse that I've started a new one!  It's going to be the Orchid from Greenleaf.  I've already started sanding all the parts.

I also wanted to share with you all that I found out I am pregnant with my 2nd today!  I haven't really told anyone and don't plan to till my first trimester is over.  It's so hard to keep it a secret, so I've decided to share it with you all!   Have a wonderful Easter holiday to you and yours and may your lives be filled with happiness everyday!

Pink Cottage

Here's a small dollhouse I made for a close friend of mine.  She loved my new hobby and admired my collection of miniatures, so I decided to give her a home to start her own collection.

I made the table and curtains.  I also painted the little hutch with soft pinks, green, and white.  I added some crackle to it as well to soften the colors a bit more.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

Rustic Cabinet

Recently I've fell in love with the shabby rustic country look.  I saw some cabinets with the use of miniature chicken wire and thought it was a creative idea.  I shopped around to find one and noticed that it's not easy to find and if I do, it's a bit pricey.  So I did some brain storming and decided to decorate my own rustic cabinet for my shabby chic dollhouses.  On this piece I stained it in a cherry finish, added some antiquing glaze to age, sanded it and then covered it with clear varnish.  Gluing the aluminum caging was a bit tricky but not too hard.  This is my first time to do this so excuse the imperfections.

It's not completely finished.  I still need to wallpaper the back and add some shelves, but so far this is what I have.  It's been really fun making this piece and I've decided to work on another one.  Updates and new cabinet photos to come.

Thank you for stopping by!
